🔥 Get Ready to Spice Things Up! Join Us for the first-ever NEAR Chili Cookoff! 🌶️

Calling all NEAR REALTORS® and Affiliates! The REALTOR® Party Committee invites you to our first-ever Chili Cookoff, where the heat is on, and the competition is fierce! Gather your team, bring your best chili, and compete for top honors in front of our special guest judges. Awards will be given for the Best Chili, Best Booth, and the highly coveted People's Choice.

Whether you’re cooking up a storm or just there to taste and vote, this event promises a fun-filled evening with delicious food, friendly rivalry, and great company. Winners will receive bragging rights and a trophy to proudly display!

Event Highlights:

  • Chili Cookoff: Compete or taste a variety of amazing chili!
  • Special Guest Judges: Local heroes from the Westford Fire Department!
  • Silent Auction: Bid on exciting items and experiences.
  • Trophies & Bragging Rights: Walk away with more than just a full stomach!

All proceeds will benefit the Massachusetts Real Estate Community Alliance (MRECA). Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to enjoy a great day with your fellow members, all for a good cause!

Awards:

  • People’s Choice Award: Winners of the People’s Choice Award will be determined by popular vote. Attendees will receive tokens to cast their votes with their registration. Additional tokens will be available for purchase at the event. The team that receives the most votes wins the People’s Choice Award.
  • Best Booth Award: Winners of the Best Booth Award will be judged on theme, decoration, enthusiasm, showmanship, and other factors by a secret panel.
  • Best Chili: Winners of the Best Chili will be determined by our special guest judges!
  • All applicants are responsible for cleaning their area.

TEAM PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES  (Download Guidelines)

For teams, please enter the name of the team captain/primary contact as the first registrant. NEAR will reach out for your team name closer to the event - it's never to early to start brainstorming your team name!

By registering a team, you agree to the following:

  • Only REALTOR® members, firms, and affiliate members are eligible to register a team for this event.
  • Each team registration fee includes: 
    • tasting cups
    • spoons
    • napkins
    • one 8-foot table
    • electric power
  • Teams are encouraged to bring a tent, but no larger than 10' x 10'.
  • Tents are not required but strongly recommended if you are decorating for the Best Booth Award.
  • Booth setup begins at 3:30 PM on the day of the event, teams to arrive no later than 4:00 PM.
  • Teams must be ready to serve at 5:30 PM; tasting and voting will take place between 5:30 – 7:30 PM; winners announced by 8:00 PM.
  • Teams are responsible for table/booth setup and cleanup.
  • A list of chili ingredients must be posted at the tent on the day of the Cookoff.
  • Chili should be cooked in advance and only heated on the day of the event.
  • A list of all chili ingredients must be visible to participants to avoid any allergies or conflict with dietary restrictions.
  • Teams must supply their own crockpots and serving utensils (no open flames).
  • All applicants are required to make at least 6 quarts of chili.
  • Teams may provide their own condiments, toppings, side items, etc.
  • Teams may also provide non-alcoholic beverages to tasters.
  • The use of themed decorations, including tents, banners, costumes, etc. is encouraged!
  • Team registration fees are non-refundable.
