MA RE57R07& NH E1557: Explore the evolution of agency law from English common law to contemporary Massachusetts statutes. Understand the fundamentals of agency relationships, from traditional seller and buyer agency to modern designated agency and facilitation models. Learn the duties and responsibilities associated with each type of brokerage relationship, including fiduciary obligations, disclosure requirements, and vicarious liability. Delve into the nuances of dual agency and the importance of informed consent. Gain insight into alternative business models such as traditional agency, single agency, and designated agency, along with their policy and legal implications. This course provides a foundational understanding of brokerage relationships in Massachusetts real estate, laying the groundwork for informed and ethical practice.

According to MA & NH Licensing Regulations, you must be present for the entire two hours to earn credit. Please log into the webinar early to ensure you are able to get in. NEAR recommends all attendees participate in the class on a computer or tablet, not a cell phone, to ensure an uninterrupted signal for the full two hours required to get credit. This is an interactive class and your video must be on for the entire 2 hours. In order to retain your Massachusetts Real Estate License, you are required to take 12 hours of Continuing Education credits every 2 years. Credit earned for this course from the Northeast Associations of REALTORS® can be applied to Massachusetts credits only. Credit earned in this course from Isabelle Perkins can be applied to New Hampshire credits only.
