MA RE105R18: Overview of information real estate agents need to address solar photovoltaics (PV) in the residential real estate transaction. Topics include the rapidly emerging residential solar PV market, a breakdown of how the technology works, and resources you need to value solar PV and explain the value to your sellers and buyers. A snapshot of what a successful sale of a home with solar looks like – a home that has an owned solar PV system and a home that has a solar PV system that is leased by a third party (Example Solar City). You will be able to identify what success looks like and how to get there. 

According to MA Licensing Regulations, you must be present for all two hours to earn credit. In order to maintain your Massachusetts Real Estate License, you are required to take 12 hours of Continuing Education credits every 2 years. Credit earned for these courses via NEAR Real Estate Academy (1236) can be applied to MA state-mandated elective credits.


Meet Your Instructor: Craig Foley
Craig Foley is the founder of Sustainable Real Estate Consulting Services, a LEED Green Associate, and chief sustainability officer for LAER Realty Partners. Foley’s combination of real estate and energy management skills give him a unique perspective about sustainable energy solutions and subject-matter expertise on greening the MLS and high-performance home valuation and marketing. As a real estate broker, he has sold several high-performance projects in and around Greater Boston. He is the team leader of REthink39 Group. REthink39 is devoted to lowering the 39% of U.S. energy consumption attributed to the built environment and believes they can be part of a solution with every transaction closed. His committee work at NAR includes chairing the Sustainability Advisory Group in 2019. He also serves on the Energy Advisory Council for Fannie Mae.
